Born in Aiken (South Carolina), Wendell Simpkins began singing at the age of 3.
As a teenager, he was chosen to become a part of the talented students of the Youth programme GETAWAY.
During his schooling years, he was involved in various musical projects, promoting and directing for over 3 years, even the gospel choir ‘Voices Of Praise’ of the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA).
After graduating in Fine Arts and Music, he decided to move to New York to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), where he earned a second degree.
In New York he began working as a solo singer performing in several concerts, but his career really took off when he became one of the vocalists of the famous HARLEM GOSPEL CHOIR, with whom he has shared years of success working for Walt Disney World, Jessica Simpson, Stephanie Mills and the Italian Irene Grandi.
In 2011 he joined Anthony Morgan Inspirational Choir Of Harlem, carrying on at the same time, with his solo career.
"I want to share the gift that God has given me with people, reaching deep into their heart and soul. This is what I want and I try to achieve with my music." Wendell Simpkins
